Going from one life threatening situation to another has created unbearable stress and financial hardship. Because of the relocation, Gerald lost his job and I am on an unpaid leave. At 9 months old, Alexander’s medical bills have exceeded his lifetime insurance cap of 2 million dollars. We bear all costs of his care for now and for the rest of his life.

We are surviving on the kindness of others and the prayers of many. We will go broke trying to save our son’s life, but thanks to family and friends, Early Childhood Preschool, IJP and fellow parishioners, coworkers at St James hospital, countless others, and especially the Mulliganeers, we can focus more on Alex.

You have all afforded us the opportunity to be at our son’s bedside and care for our girls, even at such a distance. You will never know how much you all have touched us and how thankful we are. And to the 31 year old man who donated his bone marrow…we are eternally grateful.

Alex is still very ill, and options are limited. We still have a long way to go and ask that you all continue to help us save my Alex…our Alex.

With much gratitude,
Myriam and Gerald
